Strategic Goals 2004-2010
Conduct an effective advocacy campaign that supports adequate
funding for health care safety net programs.
Advocacy is the most important activity that we undertake as a unified
ministry. It is imperative that Catholic hospitals, health systems,
and other health ministries work together to address the growing issue
of health care for the uninsured in our state. The association's Advocacy
Committee is responsible for recommending legislative priorities and
participates in meetings with legislators. If you are interested in
serving on the Advocacy Committee, contact Brenda Trolin, btrolin@tha.org.
Create effective collaborations between Catholic health care and
other ministries of the Church.
Collaboration with Catholic Charities, Catholic dioceses, and other
ministries is essential in implementing effective advocacy and education
campaigns. CHA of Texas will always coordinate our efforts with others.
Provide quality educational seminars for Catholic health care
providers and others involved in health care ministry.
Each year, CHA of Texas provides an annual ethics seminar as well
as educational presentations at our annual meeting. The association's
Education and Outreach Committee is responsible for recommending training
topics and assists with planning educational conferences. If you are
interested in serving on the Education and Outreach Committee, contact
Brenda Trolin, btrolin@tha.org.
Secure sufficient resources to ensure efficient operations of
CHA of Texas.
Although the majority of the association's funding is derived from
member dues, a smaller amount is also raised through corporate sponsorships.
The Board is committed to a diversified funding base and will be implementing
strategies to achieve this goal.
